Form 1040
Form 1040 is the form you use to file your annual tax return.
Form W-9
Form W-9 is used to provide information to a person or business that will be making payments to another person or business. For example, when you are hired as a contractor for a business, you may be asked to complete a W-9 to provide to the business that will be paying you for your services.
Form W-2
Form W-2 shows your income information earned from your employer, as well as the amount of taxes withheld from your paycheck, any benefits provided and other information for the relevant year. This form is used to help you file your federal and state taxes.
Form W-4
Form W-4 is completed to indicate to your employer how much to withhold from your paycheck for federal taxes. Accurately filling this form out can help you avoid having a large tax balance due during tax season.
Form 1099-MISC
Form 1099-MISC is used to report income other than nonemployee compensation from sources such as rent, attorney fees, or prizes and awards.
Form 1099-NEC
Form 1099-NEC is used to report self-employment income. If you’re self-employed, you can expect to receive this form from a business that has paid you at least $600 in nonemployee compensation.
Form 1099-INT
Form 1099-INT is used to report most income received in the form of interest payments, usually from a bank or financial institution.
Form 1099-G
Form 1099-G is commonly used to report unemployment compensation, but is also used to report any state or local income tax refunds received that year.
Form 1099-DIV
Form 1099-DIV reports income received from dividends from stocks and capital gains distributions.
Form 1099-R
Form 1099-R is used to report the distribution of retirement benefits, such as pensions and annuities over the amount of $10.
Form 1099-C
Form 1099-C is used to report cancellation of debt. If you receive this form from a lender, you’ll need to report the amount cancelled on this form as taxable income.
Form 1095-A
Form 1095-A provides information about an insurance policy you purchased through a Health Care Exchange (Marketplaces).
Form 1098-T
Form 1098-T is sent to students from qualified colleges or other post-secondary institutions if they paid “qualified educational expenses,” such as tuition, enrollment fees, and required course materials.
Form 1098-E
Form 1098-E is a form used by student loan companies to report how much you paid in interest on qualified student loans. You may be able to deduct some or all of the interest paid on your federal tax return using this form.
Form 1099-SSA
Form 1099-SSA is used to report any Social Security payments you may have received during the year.
